Life at Emundus 😎
Why did you choose to settle here rather than somewhere else?
I discovered Emundus through an internship as part of my studies in 2023. I remember quickly enjoying working alongside the other team members because the mutual support and kindness everyone showed on a daily basis greatly motivated me from the moment I arrived. Drawing on my past professional experiences, particularly in the fast-food industry, I know how important teamwork is and that it's not always found. That's why, after my internship, I decided to officially join Emundus to continue my adventure with a permanent contract 🧳
What do you enjoy most about your job on a daily basis?
The fact that I now have a job that combines two fields I'm particularly passionate about (programming and design) is already a great source of satisfaction for me. I constantly switch between the technical thinking and construction side of programming and the graphic creation side of product design—it's fascinating! I also greatly enjoy working with the other team members: collaborating with such dedicated people provides a tremendous amount of daily motivation and pushes us to improve our skills and knowledge.
The "superpower " or skill you've developed here that you're most proud of?
UX DESIGN!! It's true that it could be considered a "superpower" - given that I am currently the only person responsible for the product design system in the company, I have to ensure its entire operation on my own: continuously enriching and improving the components, writing usage conventions and documentation, planning product meetings… it represents a lot of work, quite complex, but one that I really enjoy managing!
If life in our country were a movie, which one would it be and why?
I think it would be a Pirates of the Caribbean movie 🏴☠️ I can easily picture us all aboard a big ship sailing the seas in search of new adventures while avoiding malevolent pirates. Ben would be the captain at the helm, Lucile would be our quartermaster looking after the crew and bringing good cheer to the ship, the sales team would be on lookout duty scouting for new lands to conquer, the developers and infrastructure team would be busy in the hold and on the sails making the ship ever more efficient, the support team and project managers would handle communication with the outside world by signaling flags, and I would take care of all the decorations!
What project or success made you say to yourself, "We nailed it!"?
I'd say maybe the Emergence competition in 2024 :) It was a really great experience that allowed me to push myself. I had to put together a complete, forty-page application, entirely written by Lucile, which was meant to help us win a local competition for best company. I spent a lot of time and research on it because I really wanted us to win. After submitting the application, we were finally selected as finalists and invited to the awards ceremony! It was a fantastic time shared by everyone, and we even managed to win the "People's Choice" award, which was very rewarding!
A wish, a short phrase that defines you, or an anecdote to share? The space is yours 😉!
I love decorating my office with lots of little objects, each with a special value for me. For example, there are quite a few Secret Santa gifts from the company (like a plush dinosaur, a tiny penguin surrounded by flowers under a small transparent dome, or a personalized mug), but also figurines and drawings of dragons (lots of dragons!), souvenir photos from the annual team-building events with the team, and also more personal items like my houseplant Gertrude (which has grown quite a bit, by the way…) or a Rubik's Cube Axis (which reminds me that I'm a geek at heart).
✨ Your Musical Confession 🎶
What is, for you, the most beautiful song of all time?
"Happy Ending " by Mika! I've been a huge Mika fan for a very, very long time, so I kind of had to choose one of his songs. He's been a big influence on my artistic life, both in my drawing styles and my musical tastes. Thanks to him, I taught myself to play the piano a few years ago, and now I'm lucky enough to play in an orchestra 🎶
The song that makes you dance instantly?
"Midnight Demons " by Emile et Images - my parents raised me on disco music and parties, so it's kind of the foundation of my musical culture. And the little synth sound in the chorus is really cool too!
Your "guilty pleasure" song? 😈
The theme music from the film "La Soupe aux choux" (Cabbage Soup) composed by Raymond Lefèvre 🛸 This film is a classic in my family and I never tire of listening to the melody. It lifts my spirits and gives me a boost for the rest of the day 🥬
